On July 29-30, 2018, we built the first digital repeater in Telavi, Georgia.
A team of Darek SP9ETE, Piotr SP9LVZ and Niko SO3ALG left for Georgia, our friends from Georgia Givi 4L4GB with whom we hosted and Mamuka 4L2M and Vephko 4L1BB were waiting for us. In addition to the DMR repeater, we have left three handheld digital radios that will be used by Givi 4L4GB, Vephko 4L1BB and the Telavi 4L7KA club.
Probably Givi will be the most heard person from DMR from Georgia, including the BASR channel. He speaks very good Russian and less English.
During our stay, we performed audibility tests to Tbilisi from the Gomborks Mountains from the summit of Tsivi approx. 1800 m above sea level. located above the town of Telavi. Tests in the 70 cm band were not very good, the decision to install the converter on the Tsivi was postponed. Currently, the repeater will remain located in Telavi, but it will be easily heard in the Kakheti Valley and on the opposite slopes of the Caucasus Mountains.
A group of amateurs from Poland contributed to the implementation of the undertaking: SP9LVZ, SP9ETE, SP9NLT, SQ9BDB, SP9JTZ, SP9EML, SQ9JXF, SQ9JXE, SP9DLM, SP9BXU, SP9ONC, SP3F, SQ9NOW, SO3ALG, SP9MIR, SQ9IWS, SP9OUK, SP9AMG, SP9XZA, SP9WZO.

The converter failed in 2019. During his stay in Georgia, Darek SP9DLM took the damaged element to Poland for repair. Due to the COVID pandemic, repairs to the converter were impossible. In April 2022, Darek SP9DLM again went to Georgia to repair the converter.
